The Vodacom Mobile Education Programme is a nationwide teacher development initiative to improve the quality of instruction in all subjects at every level, with particular emphasis on Mathematics, Mathematical Literacy and Physical Science in Grades 10 to 12. The teacher professional development training focuses on ICT Literacy, as well as the effective use and integration of digital content in the classroom.

To support the training, educators are provided with the necessary ICT infrastructure and tools. The programme is being rolled out in partnership with the Department of Basic Education, Microsoft, Mindset Learn and Cisco. Also a number of educational publishers have come on board to deliver (digital) content for both the Teacher Centres and the Digital Classroom portal.

Teacher Training Videos was founded at the start of 2007. The website offers free step by step videos to help teachers ( and students) incorporate technology into their teaching and learning. Our main aim is to help teachers who feel overwhelmed by the huge number of technologies available. The site was awarded the British Council 'ELTons Technology' and the Times Higher 'Outstanding Achievement' awards in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The Second Chance Matric Programme of the Department of Basic Education provides support to learners who want to rewrite subjects. It helps them to meet the requirements of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Senior Certificate (SC) and obtain a Grade 12 matric certificate.
Face to face classes are available at locations around the country, as well as online programmes and television and radio broadcasts.

After running the Living Maths program for 12 years, the Living Maths Mathletics Olympiad was not only a set of Maths papers for students from Grade 4-7, it was also including papers for grades 1-3. The next step was grade R (Kindergarten). After offering the Olympiad at this level, there were requests for running classes for the Foundation phase (R-3) at some of our schools. We began with grade 3 and then each year after that we introduced the classes to grades 2 and 1 and subsequently we offer the classes to grade R as well. At some of our schools we are also offering the classes to pre grade R.
